COVID-19 Health Survey

Island Health has asked AVICC to help distribute a new survey from the BC Center for Disease Control. The BC COVID-19 Survey: Your story, our future is a BC-wide population health survey to gather individual experience, knowledge and actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. As BC continues to respond to the pandemic, the Province would like to understand more about how communities are affected. A good response will mean more insight into how COVID19 has affected Island Communities and will be valuable for ongoing decision making. Feedback will help guide decision makers & strengthen our action plan. How has COVID-19 impacted you?

UBCM Excellence Awards

Applications are now being accepted for UBCM’s 2020 Community Excellence Awards. The application deadline is July 10, 2020. The awards recognize and celebrate UBCM members that have implemented projects or programs that demonstrate excellence in meeting the purposes of local government in B.C.

UBCM recognizes the unique circumstances and challenges faced by BC local governments during the COVID-18 pandemic. This includes reduced staff and financial capacity in order to address the impacts caused by the pandemic. However, the pandemic, through the Community Excellence Awards, also provides for the opportunity to celebrate and showcase the leadership and innovation that local governments are providing in their communities. Applicants are encouraged to include any COVID-19 pandemic response actions and/or activities in their applications.

The program guide with the award categories and the application form are available on the UBCM website at 2020 Community Excellence Awards.
