Trina grew up in Secwépemc territory (Salmon Arm, BC) moved to Powell River and ɬaʔamɩn (Tla’amin) territory in 2018. She was elected to Powell River city council in 2022.

In addition to her council work she is Operations Manager for the tiwšɛmawtxw Campus of Vancouver Island University and has also worked as facilitator with community groups, university departments, and government agencies that need help doing strategic planning, implementing changes, or dealing with conflict. Trina has also taught a variety of university courses on community development and non-profit leadership and management, and she holds an MBA in community economic development.
