About AVICC / Elected Executive / Director at Large Will Cole-Hamilton
I am a proud resident of the City of Courtenay, and gratefully acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
I am honoured to serve as a Councillor for the City of Courtenay, and as the Chair of the Comox Valley Regional District. Since being elected in 2018, I have consistently sought out opportunities to work with and learn from my fellow elected officials at the local, regional, provincial, and national levels. I strongly believe that we can be more effective and inclusive when we work together.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in these roles:
- Director of the Union of BC Municipalities (2022-2023)
- Director of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (2022-present)
- Co-Chair of Comox Strathcona Waste Management (2022-present)
- Trustee, Vancouver Island Regional Library (2022-present)
- Committee Member, Island Communities Economic Trust, North Island Sunshine Coast Regional Advisory Committee (2023-present)
- Committee Member and Co-Chair of the Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities Climate Leadership Steering Committee (2019-present)
- Chair, Help Cities Lead (advocating for greater local government authority over building decarbonization)
- Chair, Courtenay Drug Strategy Committee (2018-2020)
- Coordinating Circle member, Comox Valley Community Health Network (2023-present
- Chair, Climate Caucus (non-profit supporting local governments work on climate change)
