Janet Dorward is currently serving her third term as Councillor with the District of Port Hardy. She enjoys the work of making a positive difference in her community through involvement on various council committees and as an alternate Director on the Regional District Board, as well as community service work through the Rotary Club and organizing the annual Terry Fox Run for Port Hardy.

In addition to her role on council, Janet is a commercial insurance broker and holds the Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designations.

When she’s not working or serving the community, Janet enjoys outdoor activities which keep her fit. Hiking and participating in challenging races are among her favorite pastimes.

As a Director at Large on the AVICC board, Janet is committed to working collaboratively on issues that matter to Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities. She is dedicated to fostering a healthier, safer, and more vibrant region for all.
