Historically, AVICC has provided gifts to our speakers to thank them for their participation in our convention. To thank the speakers at the 2023 AVICC AGM & Convention, a donation was made on behalf of AVICC to Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank by our Host Communities, the Regional District of Nanaimo, and the City of Nanaimo.
Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank works to solve the crisis of food insecurity by using the problem of food waste to benefit people in need across Vancouver Island, serving individuals from Nanaimo to Port Hardy and providing food to over 100 other charities, food banks, schools and Indigenous communities across Vancouver Island. In 2022 over $6.9 million worth of food was provided for people in need, reaching over 30 communities across Vancouver Island.
