The 2027 AVICC AGM & Convention will be held in Nanaimo from Friday April 16 to Sunday April 18 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. The City of Nanaimo and the Regional District of Nanaimo will be our hosts, and we thank them for supporting the association.

AVICC is honoured to gather on the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, the Qualicum First Nation, and the Snaw-naw-as (Nanoose) First Nation for the upcoming convention.

Session Proposals

The AVICC Executive is pleased to present a wide variety of informative sessions for delegates each year. The deadline to submit session or study tour proposals is November 27, 2026.  Further information and the proposal submission form can be accessed at the following link:

2027 SESSION PROPOSAL DETAILS & FORM

Session Proposals must be sent to info@avicc.ca by November 27, 2026. The AVICC Executive will review submissions at their December 4, 2026 meeting with programming decisions confirmed at the January 2027 Executive Meeting. AVICC members may also wish to recommend a session, workshop or tour for the Convention but may not yet have all of the details. Resolutions

The AVICC Executive has now called for Resolutions to be considered at the 2027 Convention with a deadline of February 4, 2027.  Information about the resolutions process can be found at the following link:

The Resolutions Book and detailed Convention Rules and Procedures for Handling Resolutions will be published with the Annual Report, a minimum of two weeks prior to the AGM.

2027 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Elections for the 2027-28 AVICC Executive will be held online during the in-person convention, taking place April 16-18, 2027 in Nanaimo, BC. Voting credentials will be available to all AVICC member elected official representatives, including those not in attendance at the convention. Further information about the election process and the Nominating Committee Report will be sent to all members a minimum of two weeks prior to the convention.

Registration for the 2027 convention will be available through CivicInfo BC in February of 2027.

Note that the program remains in draft until shortly before convention open to allow for emerging issues, and changes to the content.     

Other Information

AVICC plans to source the food and beverage served at the convention from Island Good suppliers whenever possible.
