Director at Large

Mary Wagner

Mary Wagner was born and raised in Langford and has lived there most of her life. She ran for Council to promote community engagement, transparency, and sustainable development. She is keen to balance development with the need for infrastructure, services, greenspace, and climate resiliency. She earned a PhD in Biochemistry from UVic and has taught there for 15 years. She is involved in several community groups including the South Island Climate Action Network, Bilston Watershed Habitat Protection Association, and the Victoria Curling Club. She hopes to be an effective councillor by drawing on her research and teaching skills and her collaborative working style. Mary is a strong advocate for detailed planning and public input.

She lives in the Langford core with her husband of 25 years, two daughters and the family cats. She enjoys attending community events, hiking, and playing games with her family. Councillor Wagner can be reached at mwagner@langford.ca.
