Local Host Community

The Local Host Community

The host community for the 2013 AGM & Convention is the District of Sooke.  Mayor Wendal Milne and Council are thanked for their generous hospitality.

The main Convention venue will be the Best Western Premier Prestige Oceanfront Resort located at 6929 West Coast Road.

The local planning committee includes Bonnie Sprinkling, Corporate Officer, District of Sooke; Brenda Parkinson, Chair, Mayor’s Public Advisory Panel on the Arts and Beautification; and Krista Clark, Convention and Catering Manager for the Prestige Oceanfront Resort.

The above photo was taken Sept 30, 2001 on the western shore of the Sooke River at the Sooke River Campground. Locals refer to this area of the River as “The Flats” because it is prone to flooding during the rainy season.
