2025 Regional Resolutions

2025 Regional Resolutions

Regional Resolutions are those resolutions submitted to AVICC where the issue addressed is specific to the AVICC Region and/or the enactment clause directs only the AVICC area association (and not UBCM) to consider taking action. Endorsed AVICC Region-specific Resolutions are not forwarded to UBCM for consideration by the UBCM membership but will instead remain with AVICC where they may be actioned.

In 2025, AVICC members endorsed the three regional resolutions included in the 2025 Resolutions Book, as reflected in the 2025 Resolutions Disposition. In June of 2025, at their first meeting of the 2025/26 term, the AVICC Executive confirmed that AVICC would convey these resolutions to the Province.

The following letters were sent on behalf of AVICC members – Provincial responses will be added as they are received:

Minister meeting requests relating to the issues conveyed in all three of the Regional Resolutions have been submitted by AVICC for the upcoming UBCM Convention.  All other endorsed resolutions have been forwarded to UBCM for consideration at their convention in September.

On behalf of the AVICC Executive, we are grateful for our members’ commitment to the coastal communities of B.C., and the work done to advance the principles of local government in the region.
